Happy 8 Months!

29 Nov

Grace hit a milestone yesterday (8 months of the good life) and I managed to be too absorbed in life to mention it.  I’ll take the man’s way out and blame my wife.  Nice job, dear, hopefully Grace will one day forgive. I promise to put in a good word for you.

Happy monthiversary, Grace!

Thanksgiving, Happy

Grace had her first Thanksgiving, as did the Israeli and one of the Canadians at the table. One of the other Canadians (her uncle Jake) did his best impression of a pigeon to Grace’s delight.

Grace also got to eat and chew (gum, actually) her first real turkey as well as this pureed stuff.

We all hope everyone else’s Thanksgiving was just as happy.

WARNING- this clip shows disturbing images of nature.

Like many things in life, this clip ends with either guilt or frustration. Guilt would surely come from the attempt to eat her former friend, Sofie, frustration would stem from the lack of flavor in her prey. Either way, Grace worked hard and ultimately ended up in tears.

Here’s Milk in Yer Eye

22 Nov

In an incredible last-minute coordinated effort, Grace figured out how to make her hands work together to pick up her own bottle. Getting it into her mouth accurately is perhaps a project for another day. She hit her forehead, her eye and, sure, both ends got into her mouth…eventually. We are very excited that she can soon fend for herself. A good stepladder and some practice and she might just be able to mix the formula too. Finally, we can get a vacation!

BlaBla Blog post

09 Nov

Grandma Geddles is having a photography competition with herself to take the cutest granddaughter picture.  Her latest entry involves a nap and BlaBla, the knitted, skirt-wearing owl-faced doll that Grace has developed an arranged friendship with.  Jenn is determined to make this relationship work and she may be getting some traction if this picture is any indication.

Fungi (Fungirl)

08 Nov

Jenn and I are in Vancouver for our 14th wedding monthiversary (the first time we have been able to get away).  In the short time we have been gone, this mushroom sprouted (does a fungus sprout?) in Grace’s stroller.  Nice photo, Grandma Geddles.

Sweet Potato Slumber

06 Nov

Mid spoonful a certain someone decided to call it a night. Maybe Brad
should try sweet potatoes the next time his insomnia kicks in!

Maybe it happens when I am staring at a sea of pink, waiting for the right outfit to jump out at me and blue just can’t help catching my eye. Somehow after her nap, I lost control of the situation and the overalls didn’t make it back…replaced by girly pink sweatpants (game on, Mommy!).
