…or, “Why My Mom and Sister Get to Babysit Whenever They Want”
Summer is the time of sequels and easy distractions and despite my best efforts to get all the vacation posts onto the internets, I have been distracted (very easily) by my sister’s sequel to her 2008 Hat Day photoshoot.
Just about 2 years ago, Auntie Julie took advantage of Grace’s visit to Grammie’s house to break out the costume hat collection and her camera. The results were classic. This weekend the hat collection came back out and this time the camera turned on little Hazel Anne Topliff, with equally hilarious results.

Our little ladies look equally ready for cucumber sandwiches and tea, but you will have to decide for yourself whether you think they look like each other. The craziest part for me is that I just did the math and Grace is just over 4 months old here while Hazel is coming up on 6 months. What preemie?

When Grace was 4mos old (August 2008) having Hat Day #1, she was only 12lbs 11oz!! That outfit she’s wearing is a 3-6mos size!! Hazel, at her 4mos checkup in May, was over 16lbs… I don’t even want to guess what she’s going to weigh next week at her 6mos checkup!! But it’s crazy that the pictures don’t look too different – but Grace was still such a floppy little baby back then!
